CEE founder Murray Logan poses at Canada's Outdoor Park beside the new Toyota Highlander Hybrid, 2009.
Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show is pleased to announce that it has acquired the Woodstock-based Canadian Energy Expo and will merge this new acquisition with its existing Sustainable Energy Expo.
"Even though the Canadian Energy Expo and the Sustainable Energy Expo were both vibrant, stand-alone events, it was only logical to combine the two Shows in order to grow this very important energy component of Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show," says Coral Defayette, Co-ordinator for Park Logistics & Programming. The combined Shows will facilitate more exhibits and demonstrations around emerging energy technologies, conservation and awareness programs.
The first Canadian Energy Expo (CEE) was held May 2007 at the Community Complex in Woodstock, Ontario. With the keen interest in global climate change, energy sources and pricing, CEE attracted a large group of exhibitors, speakers and attendees. Included were displays of hybrid vehicles, solar energy, wind power, biomass, biofuels and insulation for both residential and commercial construction. The second CEE, held in May 2008, brought back many of the first year exhibitors and attendees, as well as a large number of new participants interested in leading-edge green technology.
Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show is also pleased to welcome CEE founder Murray Logan to their management team. With a long-standing passion for renewable and alternative energy products, Logan has attended numerous energy-related conferences and green-themed events over the years. A resident of Oxford County, Murray has been a well-known dairy farmer and cattle exporter, and is currently as the Eastern Canadian Representative for FBC Publishing based in Winnipeg. All of this has provided Murray with a vast knowledge of agriculture and the renewable energy sector; from the grass roots level to marketing and promotion.
"You can’t put a value on the personal equity that Murray brings to the table in terms of his agricultural background, local community roots and overall reputation within the sustainable energy arena," says Doug Wagner, Vice President of Park Logistics and Auctions, Canada’s Outdoor Shows Limited.
The Farm Show’s Sustainable Energy Expo will change its name to the Canadian Energy Expo and will continue to be presented by Toyota Canada Inc. Plans are in the works for the launch of CEE in 2009 that will include a mobile display featuring a Toyota gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle, and a 40ft x 200ft "CEE Coliseum" structure to house the displays and demonstrations of solar panels, wind turbines, biogas and geothermal systems. Visitors to the Expo will have the chance to test drive Toyota hybrid vehicles like the Toyota Prius, Camry Hybrid and Highlander Hybrid. Toyota continues to demonstrate strong commitment to engineering environmental innovation that brings progressive and proven transportation solutions to the world. Canadian drivers looking to drive vehicles with greater efficiency and performance can choose Toyota vehicles with confidence.
The Canadian Energy Expo presented by Toyota will be featured at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, September 15, 16 & 17, 2009 at Canada’s Outdoor Park in Woodstock, ON. For more information please visit the website URL below.
