FCC Livestock Central is the Place to Be for Livestock Enthusiasts

FCC Livestock Central at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show is the perfect place for farmers to experience the latest innovations in livestock farming from a number of different exhibitors. Species-specific exhibitors will include dairy, beef, sheep, goat, swine, poultry and more. The TD Dairy Producer Pavilion and the Livestock Pavilion are home to many livestock exhibitors, while the Britespan Dairy Innovation Centre and Grober Young Animal Development Centre are great places to see new technology in action.

On top of exhibitors and new products, FCC Livestock Central will feature livestock demonstrations, including the Sheep Handling, Cattle Handling and Pasture Grazing Demos.

FCC Livestock Central is located on 8th,9th and Masonville Lanes at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show.

Livestock Demonstrations

Sheep Handling Demo

Sheep farmers attending Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show will have the opportunity to see new technology being demonstrated live. New this year is a sheep body condition scoring demo from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), showcasing a simple technique that can help improve lamb survival, litter size and lamb weights, as well as increasing ewe longevity. OMAFRA will be demonstrating the technique while sheep are moved through handling systems.

Cattle Handling Demo

Beef producers are able to compare different cattle handling systems at the farm show, including the Arrow Cattle Handling System taking place at the Brussels Agri Services Exhibit at 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. daily, and the Hi-Hog and Tru-Test systems at the Davon Sales exhibit at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. daily.

Pasture Grazing Demo

The Pasture Grazing Demo at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show will feature Gallagher products that are focused on pasture productivity with controlled grazing. There will be pasture specialists on hand to discuss the best practices.

New fencing products will be featured as well as portable fencing products including ring top posts, tumble wheels, pre-wound medium-geared reels with turbo wire and the Smart Fence 2 setup.

The Pasture Grazing Demo will be at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. daily on North Mall.

Britespan Dairy Innovation Centre, featuring Lely and Delaval

Dairy farmers visiting this year’s show will want to stop by the Dairy Innovation Centre on Masonville Lane. The Centre is a fully functional robotic milking barn, showcasing two competing systems, and is home to 70 cows each year. Products from 20 other companies will be on display and work together to provide stalls, ventilation systems, feed for the resident cows and more.

This year, discover the Lely Astronaut A5, a farmer-friendly milking system with an energy-efficient robotic arm. Lely will also be showcasing the Lely Vector automatic feeding system and the latest Lely Juno automatic feed pusher, as well as the Lely Luna cow brush and the Lely Collector barn cleaner. Delaval will be showcasing their latest milking Parlour P500, as well as the Voluntary Milking System VMS™ V300 and their latest feeding solution, the OptiDuo Robotic Feed Refresher.

The Grober Young Animal Development Centre

Grober Nutrition is a staple of FCC Livestock Central. The Young Animal Development Centre that remains onsite year-round provides research into nutrition and housing to help young animals thrive. Make sure to stop by during the show.

Livestock Pavilion

The Livestock Pavilion at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show is the place to be for livestock farmers. With many different livestock-specific exhibitors, the Pavilion caters to a range of attendees, whether that be chicken, cow, goat or sheep farmers. Some of the exhibitors in this year’s Livestock Pavilion include DairyLogix Consulting, Chicken Farmers of Ontario, and the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency.

TD Dairy Producer Pavilion

The Dairy Producer Pavilion welcomes TD Canada Trust as new title sponsor this year. The TD Dairy Producer Pavilion will feature over 20 dairy-specific companies, including EastGen, Gay-Lea Foods Co-operative, Dairy Farms of Ontario and Shur-Gain/Trouw Nutrition. The pavilion is located at the corner of Ninth Lane and Lower Machinery Mall.
