Advanced Trait Technology for Soybeans Now Available

Enlist E3™ soybeans are now available in Canada, offering high-yielding genetics and built-in herbicide tolerance to help growers manage weeds

In spring 2019, growers in Canada gained experience with Enlist E3™ soybeans, which contain the most advanced weed control trait technology for soybeans, making both advanced genetics and excellent weed control options available.

“Enlist E3 is an industry-leading triple stack herbicide tolerant soybean that combines high-yielding genetics with industry leading multi-mode of action herbicide tolerance,” says Jeff Loessin, Soybean Category Leader with Corteva Agriscience.

Most advanced weed control trait technology for soybeans

Enlist E3 soybeans provide an alternate glyphosate tolerance trait source, along with built-in tolerance to glufosinate and 2,4-D. This enables the use of multi-mode of action herbicides pre- or post-emergence against hard-to-control and resistant weeds, including glyphosate-resistant weeds.

Growers can apply Enlist Duo™ herbicide, a combination of new 2,4-D choline and glyphosate, which is a convenient blend for control of tough broadleaf and grass weeds. With near-zero volatility and reduced potential for physical drift, Enlist Duo herbicide with Colex-D™ technology is designed to land and stay on target.

There is also an option to apply glyphosate or glufosinate herbicides post-emergence in Enlist E3 soybeans.

“The Enlist weed control system will help growers meet the challenge of farming today, and in the future, providing robust crop tolerance to Enlist Duo, along with the use of a multi-mode of action herbicide approach against hard-to-control and resistant weeds,” Loessin says.

The system also includes a stewardship initiative to promote responsible use and sustain long-term performance.

Enlist E3™ soybeans will be offered in Canada through Brevant™ seeds and Pioneer® brand seeds in 2020. Corteva Agriscience is also out-licensing the Enlist E3 soybean technology to other seed brands to further extend the availability of the technology to farmers.
