A fire occurred at a Glacier FarmMedia owned barn located on the Discovery Farm Woodstock, ON site, home of Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, May 30, 2021 at 2:30 a.m. (EST). There were no personal injuries or casualties; however, regrettably, two hogs perished in the fire. Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show personnel are on site working with emergency officials to secure the area, and cooperating in the investigation. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
The barn, built in 1883, is located on a company-owned property adjacent to Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show’s main show location. A tenant rents a home owned by the company and the barn is located nearby. While this is a sad loss, we do not expect this will disrupt day-to-day business at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show.
Thank you to local fire crews who were quick to respond and contain the fire. More information may be released as the investigation continues.
