Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show back in person for farmers to experience hands-on demonstrations and new technology

Woodstock, Ont., Aug 15, 2022 – Back in person for the first time since 2019, Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show is set to welcome visitors in the field for three full days of farm equipment demonstrations, new product showcases and offerings from hundreds of new and returning agriculture exhibitors.

“We very much look forward to seeing this show come to life in the field again,” says Doug Wagner, president of Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show. “Farmers enjoy the opportunity to get hands-on with new products and equipment, plus have in-person discussions with industry representatives. It’s the best way for producers to make decisions about their own farm operation.”

Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show has been showcasing innovative equipment, products and technology from leading agriculture companies for nearly 30 years. 2022 show highlights include:

  • Equipment Demonstrations: live in-the-field demonstrations and side-by-side equipment comparisons to illustrate several large-scale machinery options from over 20 companies, including corn tillage and planting equipment. New in 2022 is a Skid Steer Ride & Drive and a straw chopper demonstration.
  • Exhibitor-led Demonstrations: first-time and returning exhibitors are excited to showcase what’s new, including demonstrations for maximizing combine settings, a strip tillage demonstration, woodlot management features, and more. New in 2022 is a helicopter spraying demonstration.
  • Crop Plot Displays: fifteen companies will feature a variety of seed, fertilizers, plant health and crop protection products, allowing for side-by-side comparisons of common Eastern Canadian crops all in one place. New in 2022 is the OMAFRA Sprayer Clinic Demonstration sponsored by Agromart showing a comparison using drop nozzles versus conventional nozzles to apply insecticides on tall standing corn.
  • Livestock Central: industry-specific information for dairy, beef, goat and sheep producers brings the latest information and live demonstrations on livestock equipment handling, rotational pasture grazing demonstration, and more. New in 2022 is Dairy Distillery, a local Ontario company, using dairy by-products to create unique spirits under the Vodkow brand.
  • Special Events: visitors attending Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show will enjoy many opportunities to network with neighbours and industry leaders through a variety of events hosted on site. New in 2022 is the AgTech Breakfast that connects farmers with startup companies to discuss the future of AgTech. Sponsors include Bioenterprise, Desjardins, FCC, Grain Farmers of Ontario and OMAFRA.

Leading Companies Sharing the Latest in Agriculture

For close to 30 years, farmers have attended Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show to learn about the newest and most innovative products and technology in agriculture. In 2022, Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show is back in person on September 13, 14 & 15 with leading companies sharing the latest products, equipment and technology in agriculture.

Here is a taste of what you can expect at the show:

EQUIPMENT DEMONSTRATIONS

Farmers love to see equipment in action. That is what is unique about Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show in this key Ontario agricultural area. The show features many different equipment demonstrations live in the field, with plenty of opportunities to get an up-front look at the newest options available in agriculture today.

Field Demonstrations
Over 20 companies at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show offer live equipment demonstrations with new equipment and large-scale machinery operating in the field so farmers can see the best options for their farm operation.

Ride & Drives for Skid Steers
New for 2022, the Skid Steer Ride & Drive simulates a farm work site. On our show grounds, drivers will have a large area to evaluate handling, power, efficiency and feel of the skid steers, all while seeing how the machine maneuvers in a real-world situation.

*New! Straw Chopper Demonstration
The straw chopper demonstration is new at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show for 2022. Farmers can see how the machines perform side-by-side, reviewing all the features including material delivery options, ease of servicing, safety and machine versatility. This is a great opportunity for a one-of-a-kind opportunity to inform new purchase decisions for the farm.

Corn Stalk Tillage & Planting Winter Wheat
Equipment featured during the corn stalk tillage demonstration gives farmers the ability to identify performance capabilities and results to see what is most suitable for their farm. The planting equipment demonstration gives visitors an up-close look at equipment operating in the field.

Exhibitor-Led Demonstrations
Watch for exciting new products and innovative solutions for farmers at this year’s show. With a mix of returning and new companies joining us, there is a wide variety of demonstrations. Highlights include:

  • New Helicopter Spraying Demonstration provides a look at this innovative technology.
  • University of Guelph ‘Soils at Guelph’ initiative features a biomass cover crop strip demonstration.
  • Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) and Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show presents a 2022 strip tillage demonstration.
  • Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) host crop production demonstrations.
  • Rotational Pasture Grazing Demonstration with Brussels Agri Services Ltd. and Gallagher products.
  • Woodlot Demonstrations give visitors tips in woodlot management.
  • Combine Setting Demonstration with Bushel Plus on maximizing your combine’s efficiency.

CROP PLOTS
See crop plots from 15 companies featuring seed varieties, fertilizers, plant health and crop protection products. Crop plots feature products in a field environment giving farmers the opportunity to compare a wide variety of Eastern Canadian crops all in one place.

LIVESTOCK CENTRAL
With a wide range of livestock products featured at the show, producers get the chance to get up close to new technology in the dairy, beef, goat and sheep industries, watch live demonstrations on products featured at the show, and speak to manufacturers about products like nutritional supplements, specialty feed, animal health, fencing and pasture supplies, and more.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Special events at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show give farmers the chance to connect with industry through networking and industry sessions, plus special celebrations. With thousands of farmers and industry attendees at the show, gathering at this three-day event is the best way to celebrate the in-person return of farm shows!

The AgTech Breakfast is an exciting event hosted on September 14 by partners Bioenterprise, Desjardins, FCC, Grain Farmers of Ontario and OMAFRA that connects AgTech startups with farmers. This event is a special opportunity for these groups to discuss the latest innovation happening in agriculture and collaborate on solutions for the industry.

Innovations Program
Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show Innovations Program, presented by Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, reflects the exciting growth in agricultural innovation, with companies competing for the top award in each of the following categories: agronomics, livestock, equipment, business solutions, environmental sustainability and emerging innovator.

Ontario Outstanding Young Farmer Event
The 2022 regional finalists for the Ontario Outstanding Young Farmer Program will participate in this invitation-only event at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show where finalists present to the judges for their chance to represent their region at the national Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers Program recognition event.

OSCIA Crop Farmers Breakfast
Each morning, the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association hosts a by-invitation-only welcome breakfast get-together for crop farmers.

VIP Dairy Producer Brunch
Kicking off the last day of Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show is a dairy tradition: this by-invitation event for dairy producers gives them the opportunity to share a meal and network – especially welcome after several years without a farm show.
